Bob Kennedy (Indiana) won the NCAA X-Country title as a true freshman in "88."

Kennedy won theNCAA indoor mile title in "91" and the 1500 meter NCAA outdoor title in 1990.

Kennedy won his second NCAA X-Country title as a senior. He also won the U.S. cross country title that year( 92), becoming the first man to accomplish that feat since Al Lawrence did it 32 years earlier.

Al Lawrence wins the second of two NCAA XC titles '60 Al Lawrence (L, Houston) wins his second NCAA X-Country title (1960).

Todd's Road fastest Stumbler - Mark Nenow

Nenow (5'8½" / 128 lbs.) ran 4:22/9:17(mile/2 mile) @ Anoka High, MN(18). Mark burst onto the national spotlight at 24yrs, He ran 27:36.7 @ Mt Sac in 82. A PR by 54 seconds!

Nenow ran 13:18.54 for 5000m at Oslo in 84 (26yrs), setting the stage for his then AR 27:20.56 10k in 86. (Link Bislett 86).

Rick Riley (Ferris, Spokane, Wash) set the prep 2 mile outdoor record in 1966, 8:48.3. Pre broke it in 1969. Riley also ran 14:00.2 for 5,000 meters.

Doug Padilla tows Salazar, Rono and Peter Koech- This race, Salazar set (the then) AR @ 5,000m(13:11.93). 10 days earlier, Salazar had set (the then) AR @ 10k(27.25.61. 1982.

Terry Williams (Lompoc) went to Oregon and began as Pre's (a senior) teammate for cross country... As a junior Williams (R), was joined by a new generation at Oregon with freshman (Salazar and Chapa) and one tough soph (Clary).
